Brown Distributing Company teamed up with Freedom Solar Power to install a massive 481-kilowatt roof-mount system on its facility, making Brown the first beverage distribution company in Texas to “go green” with solar panels. Comprised of 1,458 high-efficiency SunPower® panels, Brown Distributing’s new solar array will pay for itself within four and a half years, save the company nearly $2 million over the next 25 years, and slash utility bills by an average of $4,300 per month.
Stone Brewing co-founder Greg Koch will be the subject of an upcoming feature-length documentary titled “The Beer Jesus of America,” which chronicles the construction and opening of the company’s Berlin brewery. Stone spokeswoman Lizzie Younkin confirmed the project, but said the film was made independently of the beer company.

J. Wakefield Brewing has begun construction of a new beer garden in front of their Wynwood taproom. The perimeter of the over 600 square foot beer garden will be defined by one steel divider and one steel planter, which will include bar tops made from western red cedar, for guests to set their beers on.
Craft cidery Austin Eastciders is putting drinks lovers in an autumnal state of mind with its first limited release cider in a can, Austin Eastciders Spiced Cider. The new limited offering officially launches mid-August and is widely available after Labor Day in all Austin Eastciders markets across the country.
