SOUTHINGTON, CT — In a corrugated steel warehouse complex at 36 Triano Drive, a quiet revolution is brewing. Vue Brewing Company, which stepped into the central Connecticut beer scene in June 2025, is successfully breathing new life into a location that previously served as the launching pad for two other prominent local breweries.

Founded by husband-and-wife duo Justin and Jessica Dawley, the nano brewery has quickly emerged as one of the best new breweries in Connecticut, boasting a perfect 5.0-star rating and highly favorable reception on popular beer enthusiast social networks. The driving force behind Vue's success is head brewer Justin Dawley, an industry veteran who has spent over eight years brewing commercially. Alongside his wife Jessica, who oversees operations management and customer experience, the duo recognized a gap in the market: a lack of traditional, true-to-style craft options amid a sea of hyper-trendy releases.

“Among the hype of the high ABV NEIPA craze, I wanted to open the minds of newer craft beer drinkers and remind the beer community of decades-old traditional styles like English ales. We are definitely seeing a resurgence of clear, crisp traditional styles, which is great!” — Justin Dawley

Science Meets Inclusivity

Beyond their focus on traditional styles, Vue Brewing processes 100% of its beer batches to be gluten-reduced.

“During the brewing process, we introduce an enzyme that will break down the gluten proteins so small, it reduces the risk of causing adverse reactions to gluten-sensitive digestive systems,” Justin Dawley explained regarding their standard process.

While the brewery uses traditional ingredients like barley and wheat—meaning they legally cannot use the FDA-regulated term “gluten-free”—the enzyme treatment reliably drops the gluten content, allowing gluten-sensitive individuals and health-conscious drinkers alike to share the same taproom table without a compromise in quality or taste.

A Balanced Taproom Lineup

Beer enthusiasts have quickly taken note of the quality and versatility. With 2 GIBCC awards under their belt, Vue balances crisp, timeless styles with modern flavors and brewing techniques to provide all beer enthusiasts with a style they can enjoy.

The typical lineup of styles showcases this versatility. Anchored by their flagship beers NoCap, a clean, light, and hoppy 4.6% ABV American Pilsner, and NiteVue, a smooth, velvety 5.2% ABV Nitro American Stout, Vue adds rotating styles from West Coast and New England-style IPAs, English ales, and seasonal fruited ales to creamy, sweet milk stouts and high ABV winter warmers.

Looking Toward the Horizon

The brewery operates on a tight weekend schedule—welcoming patrons Fridays through Sundays—and enforces a 21+ and animal-free policy inside the cozy, plant-lined warehouse nook. “We want our customers to feel at home in our brewery. Our mission is not only to provide the best, quality beer, but the best customer experience,” says Co-Owner Jessica Dawley.

In the past year, Vue Brewing's footprint has rapidly transformed from selling to-go products only to offering a vibrant taproom atmosphere complete with six draft lines and an outdoor beer garden. To further enhance their menu, Vue was recently approved as a craft café, meaning they will soon introduce Connecticut-based wines and spirits to their lineup.

To take the brand beyond Triano Drive, Vue has established a presence at regional events, including the weekly Bristol Farmers Market, and is preparing for upcoming autumn highlights like the Real Ale Cask Fest, Bristol's German Fest, and their own Oktoberfest celebration.

For consumers searching for an exceptional craft beverage that won't punish their digestive system, Vue Brewing Company is proving that making beer inclusive doesn't mean sacrificing flavor.
