San Diego’s AleSmith Brewing has tapped Wirtz Beverage for distribution of its beers, including Speedway Stout and AleSmith IPA, throughout the Chicagoland area of Illinois beginning next month.

Full Sail Brewing Celebrates the Hop Harvest with Fresh Hop Pilsner

This year, Full Sail celebrates the season’s first hops with Fresh Hop Pilsner which showcases the Perle hop variety. “This beer highlights the brewer’s art as well as nature’s gift,” said Full Sail Executive Brewmaster, Jamie Emmerson. The hops were locally grown at Sodbuster Farms, which is a Salmon Safe certified hop grower.

Starr Hill Brewery is celebrating its sixteenth anniversary this September with the release of several rare beers, including the brand new Hopfetti Triple IPA, as well as a number of special events at the Tap Room in Crozet, Virginia.

Upland Announces Online Sour Lottery

On September 24th, Upland Brewing Company will open an online lottery for the release of four of its sour ales: Three Degrees North, Cherry, Raspberry, and Dantalion. The lottery will open at noon EST on Thursday, September 24th and close at noon EST on Thursday, October 1st.

Nominations Open for NBWA Brewer Partner of the Year Award

The National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) is seeking nominations for the Brewer Partner of the Year Award. The award recognizes the brewer who does the best job in the marketplace producing great beer; building strong partnerships; providing valuable education; and offering support to their distributor customers in order to bring their beers to market. The award will be presented during NBWA’s 78th Annual Convention & Trade Show, October 11-14, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Deschutes Eyeing Virginia for Possible East Coast Brewery

It’s no secret that Oregon’s Deschutes Brewery has been on the hunt for a location to build an east coast brewing facility. A recent report from Charlottesville Tomorrow, a non-profit news organization covering land use and development in the Charlottesville, Va. area, confirms that the company is indeed considering Virginia. Deschutes president Michael LaLonde told the website that Albemarle County is “one of several” east coast sites the company is currently eyeing.
