Job Description:

The Brewer will be working with the New Trail’s Production Team to produce high quality beer. The main responsibilities of the Brewer are to produce wort and maintain quality “from grain to glass”. The Brewer is responsible for the day to day production of wort and cellaring operations for young and finished beer. Brewers are expected to work with the production team in developing the highest quality beer possible.


About New Trail Brewing Co:

New Trail Brewing Co is a new brewery opening its doors in January of 2018. New Trail is located in the beautiful mountainside of Williamsport Pennsylvania and boasts a 15 BBL Quality Tank Solutions and 60bbl Fully Automatic QTS brewhouse and cellar. New Trail seeks to maintain continued growth and is currently producing about 60,000bbls a year. In 2021 the Brewer’s Association named New Trail “The Fastest Growing Brewery in America”, and in 2025 the Brewer’s Association named New Trail the 46th largest Independent Craft Brewery in America. Also in 2025, New Trail was named Brewbound’s Craft Brewer of the Year.


New Trail sits in a warehouse that houses a tasting room with additional patio capacity for the warm summer days. Located less than a mile from the Little League World Series stadium, New Trail seeks adventurous brewers looking to keep up with modern trends and make stellar beer! New Trail Brewing Co is the brainchild of Charles Imbro and David Hertwig, both veterans of the Bar & Restaurant Industry. New Trail’s Operations are managed by Mike LaRosa a veteran of the craft beer industry who has worked with some of the most notable breweries in the Mid-Atlantic region including Tired Hands and Kane.

Essential Job Functions

  • Execute wort production on brewhouse systems
  • Perform all cellar operations including transfers, carbonation, and tank management
  • Perform CIP and COP of brewhouse and cellar vessels
  • Handle and manage yeast processes
  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment
  • Move raw materials and finished goods throughout the facility
  • Maintain strict adherence to SOPs and safety protocols
  • Maintain a clean and organized production environment


Physical & Environmental Requirements

The Brewer must be able to:

  • Lift and carry 55+ pounds regularly without assistance
  • Move full kegs and materials using appropriate equipment
  • Stand, walk, and work on feet for 8–12+ hours per shift
  • Perform repetitive physical tasks including bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing
  • Work in tight spaces and at varying heights (including ladders and platforms)
  • Push and pull heavy loads
  • Work in a wet, hot, cold, and humid production environment
  • Safely handle chemicals used in cleaning and sanitation

This role requires full physical capability. Modified or light duty work is not available for this position.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 21+ years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years brewing experience
  • Ability to perform all physical requirements listed above
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

  • Experience in a production-scale brewery
  • Forklift certification


Schedule & Expectations

  • Full-time position
  • Typical schedule: 35–55 hours per week
  • Schedule flexibility required based on production needs
