Seattle, WA – Ghostfish Brewing proudly announces the release of SODO Steel IPA, a limited release beer to commemorate the company's eleventh anniversary.
"Eleven years ago, we officially welcomed customers inside our taproom and kicked off the start of our new business," explained Ghostfish Brewing Co-Founder/CEO Brian Thiel. "Day one came with little fanfare, but it was a welcome change of generating a little revenue after many months of depleting funds and writing checks to vendors helping us to get started."
The eleventh anniversary gift is steel, a symbol of strength and durability. "We felt the gift of steel was appropriate inspiration for the naming of our annual limited anniversary beer on the heels of closing the deal on the acquisition of our new 26,000 sq ft production brewery," said Thiel. "There's a lot of steel that went into the construction of the building housing our new brewery operation, but there's also a lot of stainless steel inside that will allow us to significantly increase our overall capacity."
SODO Steel IPA takes additional inspiration from the area where its flagship brewery taproom and restaurant is located. The Seattle, Washington neighborhood known as SODO, as in "south of downtown," has a long history as the industrial area of the city. "We are proud to have carried forward the rich history of manufacturing that embodies the area of SODO over the past eleven years," stated Thiel. "The century-old building that houses our SODO-based brewery started as a steel foundry. All of these points of inspiration kept leading us back to 'SODO Steel!'"
SODO Steel IPA will soon be available on draft and in 4-pack 16oz cans inside Ghostfish Brewing's Seattle-based taproom. With the help of many wholesale distributor partners and retail establishments, Ghostfish plans to get this special beer into the hands of customers far and wide across the U.S. over the coming weeks.
SODO Steel IPA features fruity hop flavors from Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, New Zealand Nectaron, and American Citra Cryo hops. Brewed with premium gluten-free malts and fermented with Berkeley Tropics yeast for high thiol expression, this 6.4% India Pale Ale boasts flavors of pineapple and peach with undertones of tropical passionfruit and citrusy grapefruit notes.
