AleSmith Brewing Company to Release Hazy .394

AleSmith Brewing Company continues to celebrate the fifth anniversary of their collaboration with Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn, which famously resulted in San Diego Pale Ale .394.  The award-winning brewery will be releasing a hazy cousin to this popular baseball beer as part of a birthday celebration for the legendary player taking place on Saturday, May 11.

Rich Lindsay has departed Finestkind Brewing LLC, the operating company behind the Smuttynose Brewing brand, after about 14 months as CEO, Brewbound has confirmed. Lindsay joined the North Hampton, New Hampshire-based craft brewery after it was acquired by Runnymede Investments in a foreclosure auction last March.

Lift Bridge Brewing Company, Stillwater’s first craft brewery since Prohibition, announces the launch of their hard seltzer product in 12-oz. cans, available now in variety six-packs at liquor stores throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and Eastern North Dakota. Variety 12-packs of Lift Bridge Hard Seltzer will hit shelves later this month.

Boston Beer Company and Dogfish Head Agree to Merge in $300 Million Deal

Eight years ago, Dogfish Head and Boston Beer Company teamed up to brew a collaboration beer for the annual SAVOR craft beer and food pairing experience. Today, the two companies announced the signing of a definitive merger agreement valued at about $300 million. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter. As part of the transaction, Dogfish Head co-founders Sam and Mariah Calagione will receive about 406,000 shares of Boston Beer stock (NYSE: SAM), valued at $314.60 per share, making them the largest non-institutional shareholders in the company, behind Boston Beer founder Jim Koch.

Cascade Brewing Collaborates with Mikkeller on Bean-to-Barrel Triple

Cascade Brewing has announced the upcoming release of Bean-to-Barrel Triple, a collaboration project with Danish brewery Mikkeller. The Northwest sour ale will be released on Friday, May 10, and will be available in 500ml bottles and on draft at Cascade’s two Portland pubs and through limited distribution.
