42 North Releasing Bier de Brut on Saturday

Back for the New Year! Our Bier De Champagne is part beer and part wine. We brewed this beer as a nice dry Saison and halfway through fermentation added Sauvignon Blanc grape juice and Champagne yeast. The result is a white grape leaning saison beer with complex fruit and spice flavors intertwined. Finally, we heavily carbonated the beer to bring it to life with effervescence much like a champagne. Happy New Year!

Mason Ale Works Celebrates First Anniversary with Launch of Cans and Limited Barrel-Aged Release

Mason Ale Works commemorates one year in business with the launch of its core portfolio of beers in cans. They have been building their portfolio of craft beers since opening their Oceanside facility in December 2015. The core line-up includes Charley Hustle Red IPA, Jambi IPA, Willy Time Belgian-Style White, and Cash Imperial Coffee Stout.

Nickel Brook Launches in 50+ Beer Store Locations

Nickel Brook Brewing Co. announced today that three of its core brands will be available in select Beer Stores across Ontario beginning this week. Tall cans of Naughty Neighbour APA, Headstock IPA and Cause & Effect Blonde Ale will initially be stocked at 57 Beer Store outlets, with plans to expand into more stores in 2017. Distribution will be focused on self-serve and “Beer Boutique” stores, giving beer lovers greater access to some of Ontario’s best-selling craft brands.

Braxton Brewing Co. Releasing Spotlight White IPA in Cans

It’s a new year and new beer for Braxton Brewing Co. The Covington-based brewery will be releasing Spotlight White IPA in cans in the first week of 2017. This 100% Citra-hopped, 6.0% ABV IPA was brewed with orange peel and coriander.

After staring deep into his crystal ball, Brewers Association chief economist Bart Watson has provided a look at how beer style trends might develop in 2017 and, if he’s right, there could be more sessionable offerings on the way. After admitting that predicting future drinking tendencies is “pretty darn hard,” Watson said that, given recent trends, continued growth in the IPA and golden ale categories is likely.

Colorado craft beer wholesaler Elite Brands has obtained the distribution rights to Wicked Weed Brewing, Maui Brewing Company and several import brands, Brewbound has learned. In a joint press release issued on December 23, Elite Brands and Wicked Weed, a popular Asheville, North Carolina-based craft brewery, announced the new distribution agreement.
