Alchemy & Science Helps Carnival Cruise Line Launch On-Board Brewery

Boston Beer Company, the country’s second-largest craft beer producer, recently helped Carnival, the world’s largest cruise ship operator, build a floating microbrewery on-board its new Carnival Vista vessel. In a press statement, Carnival said it worked with Alchemy & Science, Boston Beer’s wholly-owned subsidiary incubator, to launch version 2.0 of its Key West-inspired bar, the Red Frog Pub, which will now also feature a small brewery.

Ninkasi to Release Bourbon Barrel-Aged Ground Control

The story behind Ground Control’s creation began in July 2014 with Mission One of NSP. In partnership with the Civilian Space eXploration Team (CSXT) and Team Hybriddyne, Ninkasi loaded a rocket with 16 vials of brewer’s yeast. A series of unexpected circumstances led to tracking issues, leaving the payload lost on the floor of the Black Rock Desert for 27 days.

U.S. Craft Exports Grow 16 Percent in 2015

U.S. craft brewers are now shipping nearly half a million barrels of beer around the world, according to the latest Brewers Association (BA) estimates. In a press release, the BA — which represents the interests of small and independent U.S. craft brewers — said American craft beer exports grew 16.3 percent in 2015, to more than 446,000 barrels and a retail value of about $116 million.

Ekos Brewmaster Software Hits 500 Subscribers

Ekos, a Charlotte-based brewery management software firm, announces it surpasses the 500 mark on breweries who have signed up for their Brewmaster product. Ekos Brewmaster is a cloud-based brewery management system that brings all of the different functions of the brewery, from inventory, planning, and beer production to sales, into one easily-accessible platform. Brewmaster also integrates seamlessly with QuickBooks, and automatically generates TTB reports.

Roughtail Brewing to Launch Throughout Kansas

Roughtail Brewing Company is pleased to announce that it is expanding it’s distribution outside of Oklahoma. Roughtail has signed a statewide distribution agreement with Worldwide Beverage of Lenexa, KS beginning April 1st.

World of Beer To Open First International Location In China

World of Beer, the Tampa-based craft tavern concept featuring 550+ craft and international beers, today announced it has signed a franchise agreement to expand internationally for the first time. The new tavern will be located in Shanghai, China and is slated to open in the second quarter of this year. Franchisee Cong Yin and his two partners plan to open at least three locations in Shanghai over the next three years.
