Two Roads Brewing Releases 2017 Lineup

Two Roads is proud to announce their product lineup for 2017. The first addition is the new spring seasonal, Zero 2 Sixty; a tart IPA with a pleasant balance of tartness plus juicy hops. Zero 2 Sixty has the backbone of a classic IPA generously hopped with Chinook, Comet and other hop varieties but is kettle-soured for a distinct and pleasant tart kick. Look for this beer in six pack bottles, cans, and draft.

The Unknown Brewing Company Announces Venture Stout Release

The Unknown Brewing Company, located in Charlotte’s South End, introduces its highly anticipated beer Venture Stout, a re-release of 2014’s and 2015’s Silverback Stout. The American-style stout is now available in The Unknown’s taproom and kegs are scheduled to be released on December 26. Venture Stout will be available in 12-ounce cans in retailers starting January 2, 2017.

A-B InBev to Sell African Bottling Business to Coca-Cola for $3 Billion

The world’s biggest beer and soda makers struck a deal Wednesday, but the transaction wasn’t a long-rumored merger of the two companies. Anheuser-Busch InBev has agreed to sell its 54.5 percent equity stake in Coca-Cola Beverages Africa to the soda-making goliath for $3.15 billion. ABI had acquired the business in October as part of its $100 billion takeover of rival SABMiller.

Oskar Blues has limited this beer to a three month seasonal offering, January through March, to take advantage of a small quantity of meticulously hand-selected hops. The beer is brewed immediately upon hop delivery to provide the optimal flavor the beer demands.

The High End’s Max Bakker Named Master Cicerone

The Cicerone Certification Program announced this week that The High End’s Max Bakker has become one of only 13 individuals world-wide to earn the title of Master Cicerone. The certification was earned following two days of intense written and oral exams, testing knowledge of beer styles, draft systems, beer evaluation, brewing technology and beer and food pairings. Bakker is now the first and only Master Cicerone located in New York.

Lumberyard Releases Snowbound Scotch Ale in Cans

Lumberyard Brewing Company is proud to release its third can in The Peaks Series – Snowbound Scotch Ale. This Scotch Ale is one of the perfect beers to warm you up this holiday season. This dark red full bodied malty ale is considerably stronger and relatively low in hop bitterness in order to offset the sweetness of the other highly roasted crystal malts. The finish is clean, crisp and dry (8.0% ABV, 16 IBU). Snowbound Scotch Ale will be available in 12oz cans as well as draft throughout Arizona and on tap at the brewery in Flagstaff.

U.S. Hop Production Eclipses 87 Million Pounds in 2016

As many craft brewers continued a shift toward brewing with more aroma hops in 2016, the average hop yield per acre declined even as total U.S. hop production hit a five-year high, according to a recent report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In 2016, farmers reported 87.1 million pounds of hops harvested, an 8.3 million pound increase over last year.
