A Redhook Brewery employee is in critical condition after an exploding keg sent the worker to the hospital with “life-threatening injuries,” according to the website for the Portsmouth Press Herald. The Brewers Association—the not-for-profit trade group that tabulates production statistics for U.S. breweries—today released its annual lists of the top 50 craft and overall brewing companies in the U.S., based on 2011 beer sales volume. After nearly 50 percent volume growth in 2011, Left Hand Brewing will look to add another 18,000 barrels in 2012. The Longmont, Colo. based company is currently in the midst of a ten year facility expansion plan that will bring total brewing capacity to 250,000 barrels.
