Shmaltz Brewing Company saddles up for a second year in a row to release its precious and vibrant She’Brew Beer Triple IPA in celebration of International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day. For the 2016 batch, the Sisters of Shmaltz came together from literally far and wide — South Carolina, Rochester, Syracuse, retail, wholesale, journalism, sales and staff — to cook up their second annual ode to the goddess of hops.
Atwater, together with Flemish Fox Brewery & Craftworks, a soon-to-launch beer company founded by Christine Celis of “Celis Beer” fame, jointly formed a new company and will collaboratively construct a 27,000 sq. ft. facility capable of producing upwards of 60,000 barrels per year. A yet-to-be-named joint entity will own the real estate and the brewery assets.

In the hub of North Carolina’s craft beer industry, one brewery is growing like a weed. Asheville-based Wicked Weed Brewing today announced it would build another production facility this summer, its fourth brewery space in as many years. Located on 17 acres in South Asheville, the new 57,000 sq. ft. facility will be entirely devoted to the production of sour, farmhouse, and wild-fermented beers — style categories that Wicked Weed has increasingly focused on in recent years.
Brew Hub, a company led by a team of beer industry executives and craft-brewing experts, has signed an agreement with Palmetto Brewing Company that will allow the Charleston, South Carolina-based craft brewer to immediately increase production and introduce its first line of canned beers.

Following a strong launch in the Pacific Northwest last year, MillerCoors is proudly expanding its naturally gluten-free Coors Peak offering with a second style, Golden Lager. Like its predecessor Copper Lager, Coors PeakGolden Lager is brewed with 100 percent all-natural, gluten-free ingredients including California brown rice and Pacific Northwest hops. Starting May 1st, Second Self Beer Company will begin to can its own beers at the brewery. This news follows the announcement that Second Self is expanding production output and facilities with new brewing equipment and a new tasting room, debuting early this summer. The Georgia craft brewery opened in Atlanta in fall 2014, and due to demand, its production has been at capacity since March 2015.
