Founders Brewing Releases 2018 Harvest Ale

According to a recent report from Hop Growers of America, your next craft beer is more likely than ever to contain Michigan hops. Founders Brewing Co. is celebrating the rise of local hops with this year’s release of Harvest Ale, a wet-hopped ale.

Payette Brewing Switches Wholesalers in Idaho

Citing a new market strategy, Boise-based Payette Brewing Company has announced it will not be moving forward with Idaho distributor Hayden Beverage Company, also based out of Boise. Instead they will be strategically partnering with two distributorships, specifically Craig Stein Beverage (CSB) in Southern Idaho, and The Odom Corporation in Northern Idaho.

Krones Inc. Completes Acquisition of W.M. Sprinkman Corporation

Krones Inc., a technology and service provider for the beverage and liquid-food industry, has completed the acquisition of W.M. Sprinkman Corporation of Waukesha, Wis. Founded in 1929, Sprinkman provides exceptionally engineered food and beverage processing equipment, specializing in the dairy and brewing industries.

Growing at More than 60 Percent, Cigar City Eyes 143,000 Barrels in 2018

Florida’s Cigar City Brewing, which sold to the Fireman Capital-backed Canarchy Craft Brewery Collective in 2016, is quickly emerging as the consortium’s most promising brand. Growing at more than 60 percent year-to-date, the Tampa-based craft brewery has already shipped more than 107,000 barrels of beer through the first nine months of 2018 and is on pace to produce an estimated 143,000 barrels.

Citing a “challenging” craft beer market, California’s Lagunitas Brewing said Tuesday that it would slash 12 percent of its workforce in a move that will impact at least 100 employees. The announcement comes about 17 months after Heineken International completed its purchase of the Petaluma-headquartered craft brewery.
