Founders Brewing to Release Panther Cub as Taproom-Exclusive

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Founders Brewing Co. announced Panther Cub as the fourth release in the taproom-only Mothership Series. Panther Cub is the first barrel-aged release of the series. It will be exclusively available in the brewery’s Detroit and Grand Rapids taprooms in 6-pack bottles and on draft beginning December 1.

“What would a Mothership Series be without a quintessential barrel-aged release to get folks excited?” said Brewmaster Jeremy Kosmicki. “It’s been years since we last released Panther Cub and we’re pumped to bring this barrel-aged vanilla porter goodness back to our taps and, for the first time, bottles. Get it while you can!”

Panther Cub has been featured in the taproom only a handful of times and quickly earned a reputation as a stellar barrel-aged release. Developed after reflecting on youthful dalliances of yore, Panther Cub is a small porter aged in a combo of BLIS maple syrup bourbon barrels and regular bourbon barrels. This fierce cat has been aging in barrels for over two years with whole vanilla beans (just for fun). Tasty maple and vanilla notes plus surprisingly deep character make this rare special release one to look upon fondly. This marks the first time the beer will be bottled. ABV TBD.

Panther Cub will have a suggested retail price of $14.99/6-pack The Mothership Series also includes: Red’s Rye IPA, Sleeper Cell and MF Donkey Stout. Please reach out to Amanda Davis (amanda@gregoryvine.com) for more information.
