The large domestic brewer Anheuser-Busch is taking a page out of craft’s playbook and will be sampling six small batch beers this summer. Each beer is distinguished by the ZIP code where the beer was brewed but feature different ingredients and ABV’s. The same yeast strain being used throughout all of the beers.

New research from Mintel, a London-based research firm that provides data across various consumer channels, suggests that Hispanics are more likely to select beer as their alcoholic beverage of choice. According to the report, Hispanics drink more imported beer than any other ethnicity.

In April, an exploding plastic keg that killed a Redhook Brewery employee sent shockwaves through the brewing industry. On April 24th, twenty-six-year-old Ben Harris was pressurizing a keg as part of a cleaning process when it exploded. Harris, who worked at Redhook Brewery’s Portsmouth Brewery location, died shortly thereafter at nearby Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
