Shebeen Brewing Expands Facility, Introduces New Brands

Since opening its doors to the public in May of 2013, Shebeen has expanded from a one barrel brew system to a 15 barrel with four 30 barrel fermenters added in 2014. The expansion has resulted in a new 1000 sq. ft. visitor center to accommodate the hundreds of regional visitors a week to the brewery. More expansion is on the way.

Far surpassing its 2014 goals – producing more than 7,000 barrels of cider in its first full year of production – Seattle Cider Company is quickly gearing up for an even bigger and better 2015. In the midst of a massive expansion, expected to more than triple the growing cidery’s production capacity to 44,000 barrels, Seattle Cider is also preparing for distribution to at least six new states over the next year, with more on the horizon.

Colorado’s Oskar Blues plans to keep its foot firmly pressed on the gas pedal in 2015, aiming for another year of double-digit growth, company officials told Brewbound. Fresh off a year in which the craft brewery grew overall depletions by 28 percent, Oskar Blues – which also operates a manufacturing facility in North Carolina – will look to brew more than 190,000 barrels and grow shipments by more than 35 percent this year.

Great Lakes Unveils New Logo, Hires Artist for Brand Refresh

Great Lakes Brewing Company (GLBC) announced in Dec. that they plan to refresh their brand in 2015. One of the original craft breweries, GLBC has a unique story and distinct heritage that the company plans to bring to the forefront in 2015. The new logo, created by Cleveland advertising agency Brokaw Inc., is not a vast departure from its predecessor. “Est. 1988,” a new addition to the logo, speaks to GLBC’s rich craft brewing history.

Widmer Brothers Brewing announced today that Hopside Down India-Style Pale Lager (IPL) will return to the lineup as the brewery’s new spring seasonal. Hopside Down is aggressively hopped for all the flavor and aroma of a traditional IPA, but cold-fermented with lager yeast for the crisp, clean character and finish of a lager. The hybrid style is a great fit for the spring season – hoppy and refreshing.

Ninkasi Realigns Wholesale Network in Pacific Northwest, Expands in Southern California

Ninkasi Brewing is in the process of realigning its wholesale network in the Pacific Northwest, the brewery announced this week, leaving two houses owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev (A-B) in order to partner up with a pair of independent distributors. Per a statement from the company, Ninkasi has agreed to deals with Bigfoot Beverage Distributors and the Odom Corporation for coverage throughout downstate Oregon (the company’s home state) and western Washington, respectively.

Two Roads to Release Igor’s Dream

Two Roads Brewing Company’s hometown of Stratford, CT is known for playing a large part in aviation history. Just a mile from where the brewery stands, the world’s first helicopter took off one historic day in 1939 piloted by its designer and legendary aviation pioneer, Igor Sikorsky. His company, Sikorsky Aircraft is still making helicopters in Stratford to this day.
