California Breweries Collaborate on 10 Beers for SF Beer Week

Independent craft breweries throughout the greater SF and Monterey Bay Areas are joining forces to create ten special beers in the spirit of local community and cooperation, and to celebrate the 10th SF Beer Week, February 9-18. The beers will debut at the SF Beer Week Opening Gala, Friday, February 9, at Pier 35 in SF — one of the very few places all ten will be poured.

The Bronx Brewery Co-Founder Steps Down as Company Retools

Chris Gallant, the co-founder of New York-based Bronx Brewery, will step down this year as his family prepares for a move to California, the company announced today. Gallant, who launched the company in 2011 with head brewer, Damian Brown, will maintain an ownership stake in the business and a seat on the company’s board. However, he will no longer be active in its day-to-day operations.

IRI Worldwide: US Beer Sales Exceed $34 Billion in 2017

U.S. beer volume sales were roughly flat in 2017, according to retail data provider IRI Worldwide. The market research firm, which tracks category-wide sales trends at off-premise retailers, reported that total U.S. beer dollar sales topped $34 billion in the firm’s multi-outlet and convenience (MULC) universe of stores (grocery, drug, club, dollar, mass-merchandiser and military).
