BIG RAPIDS, MI — Big Rapids is preparing to welcome their first microbrewery. Construction on Cranker’s Brewery is well underway, with the plan of opening in the spring of 2012. Cranker’s mission is to provide the Big Rapids community with craft beer brewed in classic styles from around the world.
SEATTLE, WA – Net Zero Impact has begun installation of a hybrid solar-thermal system at Hale’s Ales, the company’s largest and most sophisticated solar project to date. Located in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood, the project kicked off today with the dramatic lowering of a 1,200-gallon storage tank through a temporary opening in the brewery’s roof.

At last count, there were over 800 breweries in planning across the U.S. One of those breweries looking to open in 2012 is Critical Mass, a Boston-based company hoping to put down its roots in the historically ‘rough and tumble’ neighborhood of South Boston.
