River North Brewery Releases Barrel Aged Avarice

River North Brewery’s most revered beer release of the year, Barrel Aged Avarice, will land on Colorado store shelves starting today. A Belgian-style imperial stout aged in whiskey barrels, Barrel Aged Avarice always serves as the brewery’s last release of the year. Copious amounts of dark roasted barley and chocolate malt lend a jet black liquid canvas, while Belgian yeast keeps the beer dry and quaffable. A full year’s rest in freshly-emptied barrels elevates Barrel Aged Avarice to a whole new level of decadence.

Bell’s Brewery to Debut Oarsman Ale in Cans in 2016

Beginning in March, Bell’s Oarsman Ale will be available exclusively in 12 oz. cans, packaged in six-packs, and on draught. Available year-round, Oarsman (4% ABV) is a bright tart, refreshing, and drinkable Wheat Ale that was first released in 2010.

Fresh off completing a successful equity raise of $1,225,000, Bryn Mawr Brewing announced it is changing its name to Utepils Brewing, the name of the holding company. The word “utepils” is Norwegian for the first beer enjoyed outdoors in the sunshine after a long, dark winter. The word “ute” means outside and “pils” means beer. SweetWater Shakes Up Alabama Footprint Once Again

Sweetwater Brewing is on the move in Alabama again, this time transitioning away from Supreme Beverage, a MillerCoors wholesaler in the Northern part of the state, and into the Anheuser-Busch network. The Atlanta-based craft brewery said it has instead signed contracts with four new A-B wholesalers — Turner Beverage, Greene Beverage, Valley Budweiser and Shoals Distributing — for coverage north of Birmingham.

Mavericks Brewing Releases 2 New Beers

Mavericks Brewing, an independent craft brewing company devoted to creating innovative American craft beer in cans, is adding two more beers to its portfolio this month: the Big Break Belgian Golden Strong Ale, which received the gold medal for best French/Belgian Ale at the 2015 U.S. Open Beer Championships, and the Coastside Pilsner, which received the silver medal for Premium American Lager at the 2015 California State Fair. The two beers join the Tunnel Vision IPA, Belgian Style Wit, and Rye Pale Ale in the Mavericks product lineup.
