Shmaltz Announces Nationwide Release of Barrel-Aged Sour ‘Funky Jewbelation’

Shmaltz Brewing Company celebrates 20 years in the craft beer business with the nationwide seasonal release of the 5th iteration of its annual blended, barrel-aged sour experiment and adventure, Funky Jewbelation® (9.4% ABV). The Upstate New York brewery hosts The Unofficial Carbonated After Party for the Beer Week Cask Fest & Awards Gala (Altman Building) at The Well Public House (272 Meserole St., Brooklyn, 8 pm) this Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016 to kick off the official NYC launch of this year’s recipe of Funky Jewbelation® (9.4% ABV). Backwoods Brewing Company Launches New Seasonal Series

Backwoods Brewing Company is launching a new seasonal series, starting next week. “Experimental Forest Series” will comprise of three seasonal styles in 22 oz. bottles and draft. The first style is a peppercorn saison, named “Spring Creek Saison”. Brewmaster, Kevin Waters, had the chance to brew the farmhouse ale while traveling in Europe last year. He visited Amundsen Brewery in Oslo, Norway, where they concocted the recipe, and put it to the test. “The end result was incredible,” commented Waters. “Slightly dry, with fruit notes and then a hint of peppercorn, with just enough spice to make you want more.” The beer clocks in at 4.7 % ABV and 22 IBU.

Silver City Launches 20th Anniversary Series with DeLuxe Malt Liquor

2016 marks the Twentieth Anniversary of Silver City Brewery. To commemorate the occasion, we present our 20th Anniversary Series of beer releases. Some are vintage throwback recipes, fan favorites that have been revived for the occasion. Others are recipes of the future, yet still inspired by our past. Deluxe Malt Liquor is the second of these Twentieth Anniversary releases.

Rogue Releases Cold Brew IPA

Rogue Ales announces a collision of big flavors with the release of Cold Brew IPA. Stumptown Coffee Roasters’ Cold Brew Coffee is blended with an IPA made using Rogue Farms hops for a unique interplay of hops and coffee flavors. Opening with a huge hit of rich coffee aroma that is balanced by a not-so-subtle hop punch, the transition is seamless from one bold flavor to the next.

Stevens Point Brewery to Rebrand

What’s new at the Stevens Point Brewery? There’s an updated brewery logo for starters. Point is also introducing new graphics for each bottle and can of the Point family of handcrafted specialty beers. Each new bottle, can, six-pack and 12-pack now features a simple, elegant new logo on a red banner scripted with the slogan “Celebrating Great Beer Since 1857.” Then there’s a new shape for the 12-ounce bottle, new neck labels that shout out the beer’s style, and new black caps to crown the bottles, too.

The National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) 2016 Legislative Conference will take place April 10 – 13, 2016, at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Bill Hackett, chairman of Constellation Brands Beer Division, will take part in a conversation about the state of the beer industry on Monday, April 11, during the general session.

That didn’t take long. For the third time in four years, Mississippi lawmakers failed to pass legislation that would have given small breweries the right to sell beer directly to consumers. Mississippi House Bill 846, introduced earlier this month, died on Tuesday after the 33-member Ways and Means house committee failed to vote on the proposed act before a deadline.

The clock is winding down on Craft Beer Guild LLC, the Boston-area beer distributor that earlier this month was handed a 90-day license suspension for violating state laws that prohibit illegal pay-to-play schemes. The wholesaler, which is responsible for selling about 200 craft brands throughout Boston, Central and Western Massachusetts, has until Wednesday, March 2 to decide if it will pay a fine equal to 50 percent of gross profits over the 90-day period in lieu of serving a suspension.

Branchline Brewing Company is excited to announce the launch of three new beers to celebrate their 3rd Anniversary. Branchline 3rdAnniversary Tripel, 3rd Anniversary Cherry Tripel, and 3rd Anniversary Oak-AgedTripel are available at select retailers in San Antonio. The three brands arebrewed with Belgian pilsner malt, Aromatic Malt, Styrian Goldings and Tettnanghops, clear candi syrup, and a Belgian yeast blend. Each release is 8.7% ABV.
