Thirty years ago, a young couple in Juneau, Alaska started a brewery — a common occurrence today. But back then, there were fewer than 100 breweries operating in the US and none in Alaska. Now, the Alaskan Brewing Company ranks 22 out of more than 4,300 craft breweries by volume. As a celebration of 30 years in the business, Alaskan is releasing a special 30th Anniversary Beer, Perseverance Ale.

Green Flash Brewing Co. has announced the release of the second limited and rare beer in their Cellar 3 Barrelmaster’s Reserve series, Ochre Frumento. Joined by members of the Grand Rapids community, New Holland Brewing Company (NHB) cut the ribbon for their new restaurant, brewhouse, and distillery, located at 417 Bridge St. NW. The Knickerbocker opened to the public on Thursday, September 15, at 11 a.m.
