Winner of 2015 MBAA Brewery Award of Excellence Announced

The Master Brewers Association of the Americas (MBAA) has awarded its 2015 Brewery Award of Excellence to Phillips Brewing Company of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada for their CO2 reclamation project. In 2015 the award focuses on sustainability and recognizes outstanding achievements by a single brewery in the development and implementation of an innovative process (or processes) that supports environmental sustainability in brewing.

Mad River Brewing Takes Silver at 2015 Great American Beer Festival

Mad River Brewing proudly claimed a silver medal at the 2015 Great American Beer Festival (GABF). Presented by the Brewers Association, GABF is the largest national beer competition recognizing the most outstanding beers produced in the United States. The top three winners in 92 beer categories were announced September 26 at the annual event in Denver, Colorado, with Mad River Brewing’s Humboldt Brownie taking silver in the Other Strong Ale category.

Northern Discovery hops, a wild hop indigenous to Wisconsin with rare aromatic qualities, is now the key ingredient in a beer from Pearl Street Brewery. The hop, discovered in 2007 outside of Madison, Wis. had remained untouched for over a century, allowing it to evolve naturally.”
