Revolution Brewing Promotes Doug Veliky

Chicago’s Revolution Brewing has promoted Doug Veliky to chief strategy officer.

In his new role, Veliky will be tasked with leading the finance and marketing divisions of the company, as well as helping set the overall strategic direction of the craft brewery.

Veliky, who joined Revolution in 2016 as CFO after more than seven years at Reyes Holdings, had served as chief financial officer since joining the company. In that role, he was responsible for overseeing the craft brewery’s finance, accounting, compliance and human resources operations.

As Veliky takes on the new role, he’ll be giving up his leadership of the human resources department. Revolution co-founder Krista Sahakian will instead oversee the department.

Revolution will not be backfilling the CFO role.

New Holland Hires VP of Marketing

Holland, Michigan-based New Holland Brewing has appointed Arturo Rojas as its next VP of marketing, according to a press release.

Rojas, according to his LinkedIn profile, started at the craft brewery in October.

Rojas brings both a big beer pedigree, having worked more than eight years at Heineken (PEMSA Brewing Co.) from September 2000 through February 2009, and big CPG experience, having worked for Procter & Gamble on brands such as Vicks, NyQuil, Pringles and Pert Plus and Kellogg’s on Frosted Flakes, Raisin-Bran, All-Bran and Bran Flakes.

At Heineken, Rojas helped create the Most Interesting Man in the World advertising campaign for Dos Equis.

More recently, Rojas spent the last 11 years as marketing director for Amway in North America.

At New Holland, Rojas will be tasked with brand and market development for New Holland, as the company “continues its growth from regional favorite to national brand,” according to the release.

New Holland produces the popular Dragon’s Milk Stout, and the company has a sales, marketing and distribution partnership with Pabst Brewing for the brand.

Nick Kelly to Exit A-B for Charlotte MLS Team

Nick Kelly, the leader of Anheuser-Busch InBev’s sports marketing division, will leave the world’s largest beer manufacturer to become president of Charlotte FC, a Major League Soccer expansion team, according to Sports Business Daily.

Kelly, who served as A-B’s VP of partnership in beer culture and community, will join the soccer franchise in February 2021. Charlotte FC will join the soccer league in 2022.

According to Sports Business Daily, A-B is considering “a handful of internal candidates” to supplant Kelly.

Kelly spent nearly seven years at A-B; he joined the beer maker in April 2014 as director of experiential marketing for sports and later served as head of U.S. sports marketing for nearly three years.

Before joining A-B, Kelly was the senior manager of integrated marketing communications for NASCAR.

Archer Roose Names Sara Gable Chief Marketing Officer

Sara Gable joined Boston-based canned wine producer Archer Roose as its new chief marketing officer last month.

As Archer Roose CMO, she will lead “all brand initiatives to drive Archer Roose to become a beloved brand in the wine category,” according to a statement from the company. Gable joins the company after two years as senior brand and content manager on the Samuel Adams brand team at the Boston Beer Company.

Prior to joining Boston Beer, she spent more than a decade at major consumer packaged goods companies in the food and beverage and personal care spaces, including Heinz North America, Mondelez International and Colgate-Palmolive.
