Moving the country-wide explosion of sessionable beers forward, the Peak Organic Brewing Company has released the NEW Peak Nitro Stout – a soft 4.7% Nitro Stout with a toasty black malt flavor and an airy mouthfeel.

Upslope Brewing Company announces the release of Craft Lager 12-packs for the first time, hitting shelves next week. This year-round style has become a staple for Colorado craft beer fans and river enthusiasts alike and has been benefitting coldwater fisheries and watersheds through their 1% for Rivers campaign since 2011.
Fans of New Belgium Brewing no longer have to cross the border into Indiana, Ohio or Tennessee. Starting March 2, New Belgium Brewing will begin distributing in Kentucky, expanding the brewery’s distribution to 38 states. New Belgium will offer the brewery’s flagship beer Fat Tire, along with year-round releases Ranger IPA, Slow Ride Session IPA and Snapshot Wheat on draft and in 12-ounce bottles. Seasonal releases, along with Rampant Imperial IPA, Trippel Belgian-Style Ale and New Belgium’s variety packs will also be available in 12-ounce packages.
Oskar Blues’ spring seasonal, GUBNA Imperial IPA, rolls out in March with a new hop bill featuring some of the most exciting and aromatic hops, all of which were sniffed out by Oskar Blues staff at concurrent hop selection panels at both breweries.
Among the more notable changes is the departure of Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione, who previously served on the executive committee. Brooklyn Brewery co-founder Steve Hindy, who last year served as an at-large board member, took Calagione’s spot as past chair. Hindy isn’t the only new addition to the executive board, however. Larry Chase has been elevated to secretary and treasurer in the absence of Mark Edelson of Iron Hill Brewery, who held the position last year.
The Beer Institute today appointed Susan Haney as its new vice president of operations. Haney, who most recently served as the senior director of industry affairs, will oversee organization operations, industry and government affairs, The Beer Institute said in a press statement.
