Seattle-based Two Beers Brewing, which also owns Seattle Cider Company, today named Braam as its new president. Braam, who first began working with Two Beers in 2011 on a freelance basis, joined both companies full-time last January as their director of business development and marketing.

South County Brewing Releases First Canned Beer, Expands Into Philadelphia

Beginning on March 2nd, the first canned beer by South County Brewing Company will be available through distributors, taverns and grocery stores throughout the Susquehanna Valley, Philadelphia and select Maryland counties. Expect to see 12-packs at beer distributors and in 4-packs and singles at bottle shops, and Weis Markets. Cans will also be available at the brewery tap room in Fawn Grove.

World of Beer on Track to Have More Than 100 Open Locations in 2016

World of Beer, the Tampa-based craft tavern featuring 550+ craft and international beers, has continued its aggressive expansion throughout the U.S. 2015 highlighted the opening of 22 taverns with the projection of more than 100 taverns to be open by the end of 2016. The craft tavern concept also announced it will open its first taverns in Minnesota, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Las Vegas this year.

Georgia Brewers Guild Strikes Deal with Wholesalers

In an effort to lift a controversial rule imposed by the state’s Department of Revenue, Georgia craft brewers this week cut a deal with beer wholesalers and recaptured the right to sell beer directly to consumers as a “souvenir” for brewery tour-goers. The agreement, which is still pending an official DOR policy bulletin, will allow beermakers to once again charge variable rates for brewery tours — something craft brewers gained when SB 63, the so-called “beer jobs bill,” was signed into law last July.

For the first time in 12 years, Michigan’s Short’s Brewing Company will add permanent distribution to markets outside of its home state. The move, made in part by a desire to fill excess production capacity, will bring its beer and Starcut Cider brand to two new markets before April: Illinois and Pennsylvania.

Hopworks Urban Brewery (HUB) today announced the February release of its award-winning seasonal beer Rise Up Red India Red Ale. This classic Northwest-Style Red is available in four-packs of 16oz. cans, 22oz. bottles and on draught throughout HUB’s distribution area, and on tap at both Hopworks brewpubs.

Hydra Beer Company Opens in South Dakota

Hydra Beer Company, makers of quality craft beer, have now opened a taproom, and brewery in Sioux Falls. 2,775 sq. foot space with 24 taps. 16 being craft brews, two for meads, and ciders. Two tap lines designated to our cold brew coffee poured on nitro, and four lines for our gourmet sodas made in house.

Coastal Empire Expands Distribution to Florida

Georgia-based Coastal Empire Beer Co has partnered with Cavalier Distributing in Lakeland, Florida to open distribution for the state of Florida. Currently Coastal Empire Beer Co. is distributed statewide in Georgia by Savannah Distributing. Co-founder Chris Haborak commented, “We have a great relationship with our distributor in Georgia with Savannah Distributing and the team at Cavalier Distributing is top notch as well and we are very excited to have partnered up with them for state wide distribution in Florida.”

Stone Brewing Rereleases ‘Stone 12th Anniversary Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout’

This year marks Stone Brewing’s 20th year of brewing bold, flavorful and memorable craft beers and with this monumental occasion comes a tribute to fans for their two decades of steadfast support. The Stone 20th Anniversary Encore Series will reintroduce previously brewed fan-favorite beers, each for a limited time, throughout the anniversary year. The first in the celebratory series for 2016 is Stone 12th Anniversary Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout, making its comeback this week in 22-ounce bottles and on draft at select retailers, restaurants and bars in markets where Stone beer is sold.

Iron Triangle Brewing Opens its Doors

After nearly a year of construction and permitting, Iron Triangle Brewing Company has opened its doors to customers. Over one thousand people attended the Grand Opening event with a line stretching down the block to get in. Patrons finally had a chance to take in the vintage 1904 building with a speakeasy feel in both the brewery and taproom and of course the beer. While the grand opening was a huge success, the team is now focusing on delivering clean drinkable ales through distribution as well as a rotation of specialty taproom only beers.

Fireman’s Brew Expands Distribution to Utah and Minnesota

Fireman’s Brew, a Los Angeles-based craft beer company founded by two California firefighters, today announced a partnership with Viking Beverages, a Molson Coors distributor, to distribute its award-winning beers throughout Minnesota. The brewery also inked an agreement with General Distributing for coverage throughout Utah.
