Filling an important niche within Chicago’s growing craft beer scene, Dovetail Brewery officially opens Saturday, June 11 in Chicago’s Ravenswood Corridor at 1800 W. Belle Plaine. This sizable 22,000 square foot facility, owned by certified master brewers Hagen Dost and Bill Wesselink, is producing a traditional German-style Lager, a Bavarian-style Hefeweizen and a Franconian-style Rauchbier.
In the first collaboration of its kind, Thorn Street Brewery has teamed up with Jetty Extracts, a leader in the cannabis industry, to bring craft beer drinkers something completely new. OG HighPA Session IPA, 4.20% ABV is juicy, dank and delicious. The process of creating this beer is rooted in the science of terpenes, which are the compounds in both cannabis and beer hops that give them their unique smells.

A growing number of craft beer drinkers would describe themselves as being “health-conscious” and are interested in striking a balance between regular alcohol consumption and routine exercise, according to a new survey jointly developed by Nielsen, The Harris Poll and Brewbound. According to the study — which surveyed nearly 1,400 respondents who drink alcoholic beverages several times per month — 60 percent of millennial craft beer drinkers (those who consume at least one beer per month) said they only drink alcohol on the weekends, while 44 percent of millennial monthly craft drinkers said they take time off from drinking entirely in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
