Mad River Brewing Company (MRB), one of California’s original craft breweries, has revamped its portfolio and packaging and increased production to over three times capacity with the installation of a new brew house.
Beginning January, 1, 2017, Sierra Nevada will introduce two new core products: The first, Sidecar Orange Pale Ale, is a 5.3 percent pale ale brewed with oranges that the company hopes will generate interest from consumers craving a more fruit-forward drinking experience. A second product, Tropical Torpedo, will also look to capitalize on a growing shift toward citrus and tropical IPA variants.
The arrival of cooler months heralds when craft beer drinkers begin to find themselves hunkered down indoors with richer beers like milk stouts and porters. Starting this week the new Stone Vanilla Bean Porter will be packed for any such occasion alongside Stone Coffee Milk Stout, Stone Ruination Double IPA 2.0 and Stone Delicious IPA in the Stone Cabin Fever Mixed 12 Pack.
No-Li will launch Red, White & No-Li Pale Ale in a 12 oz. 6-pack CAN on Tuesday, Nov. 8th. The No-Li Red, White & No-Li Pale 6-pack CAN recipe was born out of the Red, White & No-Li Small Batch Festival. The recipe is a collaboration of Head Brewer Ryan Brookhart (aka RAB) and Lead Brewer Brandon Nelson. RAB and Brandon said, “The Red, White & No-Li Pale recipe is a team effort in the Brewhouse.”

Deschutes Brewery and Bendistillery today announced the much anticipated launch of Black Butte Whiskey. Created over the past three years, this malt whiskey was double distilled from the wash of Deschutes Brewery’s flagship beer, Black Butte Porter. Available in very limited quantities, this sipping whiskey can be found starting today at the brewery’s two public houses, Bendistillery’s tasting room and Oregon liquor stores only.

MillerCoors yesterday announced plans to transition marketing responsibilities for its two largest craft brands — Blue Moon and Jacob Leinenkugel – away from its Tenth and Blake craft and import division. Tenth and Blake chief Scott Whitley explained the rationale behind the move in an email to distributors yesterday, noting the increased marketing demands needed to grow what he called “powerhouse” brands.
