Green Flash Brewing to Release 2016 ‘Treasure Chest’ IPA to Support Breast Cancer

Green Flash Brewing Co. announces plans for their 2016 “Treasure Chest” program, the craft brewery’s 6th annual beer release and event series to raise funds for breast cancer charities. Once again, this year’s program will include the release of Treasure Chest beer packaged in 22oz bottles to limited national availability. The beer will also be available on-draft in over 27 US states, supported by a dynamic retail and on-premise event program in key cities.

Forbidden Root Brewery, Chicago’s own botanic brewing company at 1746 W. Chicago Ave. in West Town, is releasing a new year-round beer available at retail and at the restaurant and brewery beginning today, July 11. Along with this new offering comes a new format and packaging. At 5% ABV, Money on My Rind is a Belgian-inspired witbier brewed with juniper berries, grapefruit peel and juice for those days when you’re rolling down the street, “laid back.” A nod to the iconic pop culture beverage, Money on My Rind will be released in a six-pack of 12-ounce bottles for summer barbeques, camp sites and porches everywhere.

There’s more private equity money flowing into the craft brewing industry, this time via consumer products-focused firm VMG Consumer Partners and popular San Diego beermaker Stone Brewing. VMG — which specializes in food and beverage investments and has purchased stakes in entrepreneurial ventures like KIND Healthy Snacks, Pirate’s Booty, Justin’s and Spindrift, among others — will invest $89.5 million into a recently formed limited partnership called “VMG Stone Brewing Coinvestment,” according to a June SEC filing.
