CPI: Beer Inflation Has ‘Reemerged’ This Fall

After a seven-month slowdown, beer inflation “has reemerged in the past three months,” Brewers Association (BA) chief economist Bart Watson wrote on Twitter/X, following the release of the October Consumer Price Index (CPI) from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for beer both at home (+6.1%) and away from home (+5%) outpaced overall inflation (+4%) once again in May 2023 compared to May 2022, before seasonal adjustment, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
