Veteran Boston Beer Director Jay Margolis To Retire

The Boston Beer Company, Inc. (NYSE: SAM) (the “Company”), brewers of Samuel Adams beers, announced today that Director Jay Margolis has informed the Board of Directors that he will not stand for re-election as a Director of the Company at the end of his current term and will retire from the Board effective as of the close of the 2017 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.

Brewers Association Creates Beer Nutrient Database

In an effort to help small breweries comply with new Food and Drug Administration (FDA) menu labeling requirements and avoid costly nutritional testing, the Brewers Association has developed a beer nutrient database that reflects the average nutritional value of more than 40 popular craft styles. The database, available to members on the trade organization’s website, allows brewers to determine calories and carbohydrates using accurate gravity measurements and a digital calculator developed by the BA and the Scandinavian School of Brewing.

Following Annual Review, Yard House Taps Over 400 New Beer Brands

Each year the beverage team and beer experts at Yard House spend an average of four months conducting the restaurant’s annual Beer Review. This year guests of Yard House were invited help craft the beer menu by participating in an online survey. Those who weighed in, along with members of Yard House’s eClub and social media channels, will be the first to see what new brews will have a place at the beer head for 2017, which get tapped companywide on Monday, March 27.
