Craft Brew Alliance and Laurelwood Brewing to End Contract Brewing Arrangement

After more than two years, Oregon’s Laurelwood Brewing will end its contract brewing relationship with Craft Brew Alliance and shift production to Full Sail Brewing, the company announced today. In a press statement, Laurelwood founder Mike De Kalb said he expects Full Sail, which is based in Hood River, Ore., to take over production in Spring 2016.

Shannon Brewing Company will begin distributing its fire-brewed beers in Austin, Texas in mid-November. The brewery has a new distribution agreement with Texas Barrel House Distributing, LLC to bring its beer to Austin in kegs and 12 OZ can cases.

Braxton Brewing Announces the Release of Storm Cream Ale in Cans

You will now be able to “Lift One to Life” on-the-go. Braxton Brewing Company will be releasing their first canned beer on November 16. The Covington-based company will be canning and distributing Storm Golden Cream Ale.

DBI Beverage Picks Up 1.7 Million Cases in San Jose

DBI Beverage Company has added 1.7 million new cases to its operation in San Jose, Calif., following the official closure of M.E. Fox & Company Inc., a local competitor that, in September, announced it would sell its beverage distribution business to DBI and Anheuser-Busch InBev. In a statement, DBI Beverage said it purchased the distribution rights and related assets of M.E. Fox, including brands from 26 different suppliers. Among them, notable craft standouts include Boston Beer, Sierra Nevada, North American Breweries and Hangar 24.

Karl Strauss Releases 2 Beers for San Diego Beer Week

Like they do every year for the celebration of San Diego Beer Week, Karl Strauss just released their highly coveted Peanut Butter Cup Porter. Originally brewed for San Diego Beer Week back in 2012, this unique spin on a classic robust porter was an instant hit and has gone on to inspire other San Diego breweries to release their own peanut butter beers. KARL’s Peanut Butter Cup Porter has become so popular the brewery has had to triple its production each year for the last three years.

Registration Opens for 2016 World Beer Cup

Brewery registration is now underway for the 2016 World Beer Cup. Developed and run by the Brewers Association, the World Beer Cup is open to professional breweries throughout the world that meet all legal and permitting requirements for breweries in their respective country. The competition, which is among the most prestigious beer competitions in the world, takes place every two years and held in conjunction with the annual Craft Brewers Conference & BrewExpo America.

New York Breweries Raise Money for State Guild

In June 2015, Shmaltz Brewing Company collaborated with 10 premier NYS breweries to brew New York’s first official state beer (Statewide Pale Ale). Proving that strength in numbers is a recipe for success, the hardworking brewmasters were able to raise $3,575 to be directly donated to the New York State Brewers Association. On Saturday, November 7, 2015, a check for $3,575 will be presented to Paul Leone (Executive Director, New York State Brewers Association) at The 3rd Annual Craft New York Brewers Festival (Landmark Theatre, Syracuse, NY).
