Malteurop, a global provider of malt to brewers and distillers, has filed a lawsuit against three former employees and their company, Proximity Malt, a craft beer industry-focused startup that was founded in February 2015. In the suit, filed Dec. 17, 2015 in the Milwaukee County Circuit Court, Malteurop North America claimed that Proximity Malt and a member of its team stole confidential information that was used to help launch the new company.
Anheuser-Busch announced today that it will return to the Super Bowl as the exclusive category advertiser for the 28th year in a row. On Sunday, Feb. 7, the brewer will use the world’s most prominent advertising stage to spotlight Super Bowl veterans Budweiser and Bud Light, along with first-time Super Bowl advertiser Shock Top and returning Super Bowl advertiser Michelob ULTRA.
Reuben’s Brews announced that it has been selected to brew the official beer of Seattle Beer Week. In honor of the city they love, and their mutual love of hops, the brewery created Daily Pale, a sessionable India Pale Ale. The beer will be available in 12-ounce cans starting mid-April 2016 and on draft around the city as part of the May 12-22 Seattle Beer Week festivities. The official tapping ceremony of Daily Pale which kicks off Seattle Beer Week will be on May 12 at the brewery’s tasting room.

Green Man Brewery is heating things up for Valentine’s Day this year, with the release of their spicy, chocolatey Imperial Black Ale on February 12th. This high gravity beer is brewed with specialty roasted malts and a Mexican brown sugar called Panela. In order to better meet growing domestic and international demand for Wild Goose canning lines and ancillary modules, the Company today announced two additions to its sales team. Andrew Ferguson has been named to the newly created position of International Sales Director, and Alan Coon has just been appointed as Wild Goose Canning’s first Sales Engineer. After changing wholesalers in Wisconsin and Maryland late last year, San Diego’s Ballast Point Brewing has moved the brand in at least one other key market: New York City. The company is also considering moves throughout the rest of the state, a source familiar with transaction told Brewbound. The company — which was recently purchased by Corona-maker Constellation Brands for $1 billion — is in the process of terminating its contract with Sheehan Family Companies, a beer distributor that operates four wholesale outfits throughout the state, the source said.

He’s authorized Speakeasy Ales & Lagers to release a limited batch of Barrel-Aged Old Godfather Barleywine, which has never been bottled or served on draft to the public. Until now, the beer was only used as blending component in Speakeasy’s Syndicate Series.

The Colorado-based craft brewery announces that leading active lifestyle marketing agency Backbone Media will spearhead its communications efforts.
