New Belgium Brewing has received the highest certification level possible from the U.S. Zero Waste Business Council (USZWBC) for its waste reduction efforts, gaining platinum recognition. The certification provides a third-party perspective on how effectively the brewery reduces, reuses, and recycles waste. Businesses with a 90 percent waste reduction rate can apply for the certification. New Belgium has exceeded this rate since it began tracking the data more than 10 years ago, and is currently diverting 99.9 percent year to date.
Originally brewed to celebrate Inauguration Day, January 20, 2009, Avery Brewing Company elected to give their beer Ale to the Chief a third term to commemorate the 2016 election. Rather than categorizing the beer as Imperial, Avery created a new beer style to honor our country’s democracy, calling the beer a Presidential Pale Ale. A brew worthy of the Oval Office!
The Grand Canyon Brewing Company is expanding with the addition of a brand new brewhouse and tap room located just two miles down Route 66 from their current location in Williams, AZ. The tap room grand opening is scheduled for Thursday, July 28, 2016. The brewhouse will begin production in January 2017.

Tamarron Consulting has published the results of its latest “Malt Beverage Supplier Performance Survey,” naming MillerCoors as the top rated beer manufacturer in 2015. More than 220 U.S. beer distributors representing approximately one third of total U.S. malt beverage industry volumes responded to the survey, which asked wholesalers to rate performance and share perceptions of the leading domestic and import brands.

Beginning August 1, 2016, SanTan Brewing Company is set to release their fall seasonal, Oktoberfest Lager – a traditional German lager brewed annually for SanTan’s Oktoberfest celebration in Downtown Chandler. Oktoberfest made its debut in 2008 at SanTan’s first anniversary event. Today, it is Arizona’s longest running Oktoberfest brew.
Regional craft brewery Ale Asylum is ramping up to release their first packaged lager: Oktillion Oktoberfest. Known for their hop-centric ales, this is a leap into new territory for the brewery with a new style category as well.
The new round of funding will be structured much like the first: in the form of revenue share through which the business pays investors back with monthly payments based on topline revenue performance. Investors continue to receive monthly payments until they’ve received a total payback of 1.5x investment.
