Good City Brewing, the first microbrewery and taproom to open on Milwaukee’s densely populated East Side, has announced key additions to its startup team in anticipation of a June opening. Chef Guy Davies is joining Good City as Brewery Chef. The doors swing open at 21 Craven Street, Asheville, NC and the public will be able to taste New Belgium beers for the first time at the brewery’s new location. Tasting room hours are Monday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday noon to 8:00 p.m. Public brewery tours will start this summer.
World of Beer, Inc. (WOB), is excited to announce the selections for the company’s first Drink It Intern program. Over 7,000 hopefuls applied during the nationwide 26-day call-for-submission period for the chance to spend the summer traveling to capture and share the untold stories of beer. Interns were able to apply via a one-minute video submission on the company’s website or in-person at eight tavern locations nationwide. The interns will be paid $12,000 for their efforts during the four-month internship.

Saint Arnold Brewing Co. (www.saintarnold.com), the oldest craft brewery in Texas, is shipping its latest creation: Saint Arnold Icon Green – 7220 Pale Ale. The brew, described as an American/German pale ale hybrid, features an experimental hop from the Hop Research Center in Huell, Germany, that until a few weeks ago was known only as Hop No. 2010/72/20. The researchers have since named it, “Ariana.”
