Bell’s Brewery’s 2017 release calendar features archive favorites, a new bottled beer and quite a few specialties. “We have a lot of exciting plans for next year and we wanted to give our fans and partners a preview,” Laura Bell, Bell’s Vice President and Co-owner said.
Starting on December 1st and for the first time since launching in Atlanta in fall 2014, beers from Second Self Beer Company will be available outside Georgia, in Alabama. Year-round favorites and rotating seasonals will be sold on draft and in cans at bars, restaurants, and shops throughout Birmingham, Montgomery, Auburn and surrounding counties.
With ski season underway, Steamworks Brewing Co. will expand its special monthly “firkin” tapping beyond the brewpub, adding Firkin Fridays at Purgatory Resort during the season. The December firkin featured at Steamworks and on the mountain is the “Spruced Stout,” to be tapped Friday, Dec. 2, 2016.

This variant of Dark Charge aged for over a year in 23-year old Bourbon Barrels that then aged 100% pure Maple Syrup for another year.

MagnoliaBrewing will release their seasonal Winter Warmer Ale on Wednesday,November 23rd. An annual tradition, the Magnolia team, led by brewmaster/founder Dave McLean, has been brewing the ale every fall for 19years, always releasing it on the day before Thanksgiving. This year, Magnolia will offer six iterations of the ale over the course of the holiday season: 2016’s cask and draft brews, 2015’s vintage ale, and three more batches aged in wooden barrels.
The Unknown Brewing Company, located in Charlotte’s South End, is set to unveil their new beer called Stupid, a Flanders Red Ale, on Saturday, December 3. The Flanders-style ale will be sold in 500mL bottles and available on draft in The Unknown’s taproom.
