One of the nation’s largest craft breweries is dipping its toe into the non-alcoholic beverage space. Sierra Nevada Brewing Company has launched its first non-alcoholic product, Hop Splash, a sparkling water infused with Citra and Amarillo hops.

Every year, Creature Comforts Brewing Co. partners with a new brewery to create a collaborative beer as a part of its Get Comfortable community impact program. During the 2021 season, the brewery collaborated with Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. to brew a Double IPA celebrating the breweries’ shared appreciation for Citra hops.

For the first time in the brewery’s four-decade history, Sierra Nevada has transformed its beer into a different beverage. In collaboration with Alameda, California-based St. George Spirits, Sierra Nevada will release Ruthless, a malt whiskey made with a blend of liquor that includes liquid distilled from the brewery’s Ruthless Rye IPA in 2013, as well as a portion of the first barrel of St. George Single Malt Whiskey.

In a lawsuit filed in Superior Court of the state of California on April 23, 20 years to the day after Sierra Nevada signed on with Matagrano for distribution, the wholesaler alleged that “as a result of defendant’s breach of the distributorship agreement, Matagrano has been damaged in an amount not yet ascertained, but which exceeds $8 million.”
