After launching the popular Smokestack Series in Massachusetts last September, Boulevard Brewing Co. VP of Sales, Bob Sullivan, told Brewbound.com today that the Kansas City, Missouri-based craft brewer is adjusting its sell-in strategy for some of its new markets.

Next Tuesday, Boulevard Brewing Company and Pretty Things Beer and Ale Project will debut a new collaboration project — Stingo – an English-style ale – in Boston, Mass. It’s the third installment in Boulevard’s Smokestack Collaboration Series, which already includes collaborations with Orval and Deschutes Brewery.
Boston Beer Company Founder Jim Koch hosted nearly 250 beer fans today at the Samuel Adams brewery in Jamaica Plain for the release of the company’s latest creation, Brewlywed Ale. The beer, a limited-edition, 750 mL cork-topped offering was brewed specifically with newlyweds in mind.

Last week, the Brewers Association unveiled a new video promoting the “Support Your Local Brewery (SYLB)” network, a grassroots activist organization geared at passionate beer enthusiasts. The organization is currently comprised of 40,000 direct members from all 50 states but has the ability to reach 900,000 people through its brewery partnerships.
Karl Strauss Brewing Co. officially launched in Northern California this month with a 5,000 case-equivalent order from DBI Beverages Inc. Karl Strauss General Sales Manager Michael Yao told Brewbound.com in June that the launch will initially be focused at on-premise sampling and regional grocery business through chains like Lunardi’s and Nugget Markets.

Earlier this month, Dogfish Head announced that the popular Indian Brown Ale would be going year-round in five new states — California, Arizona, Washington, Oregon and Colorado — marking the first time since the company pulled back distribution in 2011 that a year-round offering was released to new markets.
The large domestic brewer Anheuser-Busch is taking a page out of craft’s playbook and will be sampling six small batch beers this summer. Each beer is distinguished by the ZIP code where the beer was brewed but feature different ingredients and ABV’s. The same yeast strain being used throughout all of the beers.
