The Beer Institute announced new data yesterday which pegs the number of active permitted brewers at 2,751, an all-time high. It’s the highest number of U.S. brewers ever recorded by the Beer Institute, up from 2,309 active permitted brewers in 2011.

The Fort Collins-based craft brewery Funkwerks is broadening its distribution footprint and has signed its first wholesaler, American Eagle Distributing Co. Funkwerks co-founder Brad Lincoln told Brewbound.com that American Eagle will begin distributing the brewery’s products throughout all of Northern Colorado, with the exception of Fort Collins where Funkwerks will continue to self-distribute its beers.
