Dogfish Head Sells 15 Percent Stake to LNK Partners

Dogfish Head, the country’s 13th largest craft brewery, today announced it has sold a 15 percent stake to LNK Partners, a New York-based private equity firm that has previously invested in companies like Niman Ranch, Performance Bicycle, Beachbody and Au Bon Pain, among others. LNK will obtain one seat on Dogfish Head’s board of directors, which currently has five voting members, as well as informal advisors.

CBA Planning to Purchase Minority Stake in Cisco Brewers

Craft Brew Alliance (CBA) is in the process of purchasing a minority stake in Nantucket, Mass.-based Cisco Brewers, CEO Andy Thomas told Brewbound on Monday. The two parties are still negotiating specific terms, but Thomas said a deal would be for less than 25 percent of the company, enabling Cisco to maintain its status as a Brewers Association-defined craft brewer.

The 2015 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition awarded 275 medals to some of the best commercial breweries in the United States, plus three GABF Pro-Am medals to teams of amateur brewers paired with professional brewers. Presented by the Brewers Association, GABF is the largest commercial beer competition in the world and a symbol of brewing excellence. In its 29th year, the 2015 competition surpassed all previous participation records, exceeding last year’s record-setting competition.

Los Angeles Craft Brewers Medal at 2015 Great American Beer Festival

Members of the Los Angeles County Brewers Guild picked up beer’s most coveted accolades at this year’s 2015 Great American Beer Festival in Denver, CO. Silver medals were awarded to Beachwood BBQ & Brewing for Mocha Machine and to Smog City Brewing for Kumquat Saison in the competition that featured a record-number of brewing hopefuls.

Reuben’s Brews Wins 2 Medals at 2015 GABF

Reuben’s Brews is excited to announce that we won two medals at the Great American Beer Festival awards held last weekend! Our Gose was honored with a gold medal in the competitive German-Style Sour category, and our Dry Stout won the bronze in the Classic Irish-Style Dry Stout category. The Dry Stout is available in the taproom now, and the Gose, which made its debut earlier this year, will return in late October.
