Employees at Minneapolis-based Indeed Brewing have agreed to organize with Unite Here Local 17 and brewery management has voluntarily recognized the union.

Anheuser-Busch InBev (A-B) Teamsters voted this week to ratify the union’s new five-year contract with the world’s largest beer manufacturer, the union announced yesterday. The contract was approved with 86% of the vote, which began on Sunday and went on for three days.

Nearly 5,000 Teamsters members across Anheuser-Busch InBev’s U.S. facilities have voted to authorize a strike if a new contract is not in place when the current one expires on February 29.

A vote to formalize the Brewing Union of Georgia (BUG) among employees at Athens, Georgia-based Creature Comforts Beer Co. has failed. The results of the election, which took place on October 3, were 21 votes in favor and 32 against, Creature Comforts told Brewbound, noting that the company was “pleased, but not surprised” by the results.

Brewing Union of Georgia (BUG) has updated its unfair labor practices (ULP) filings against Creature Comforts to include employee retaliation firing, after an employee of the Athens, Georgia-based brewery was allegedly fired for his union efforts.

Union workers at San Francisco-based Anchor Brewing are in limbo, as negotiations with company leadership for a new contract have stalled and the union’s initial contract has expired, according to union leaders.

Production workers for Ohio’s Great Lakes Brewing Company went public Sunday with an effort to form a union, with help from the United Steelworkers union.
