The Bruery’s Reserve Society Raises Over $15,000 for Charity

The Bruery Reserve SocietyPLACENTIA, CA – Orange County based craft brewery, The Bruery, raised over $15,000 for charity this past month and they will be splitting the earnings between the Boys & Girls Club and the Free Wheelchair Mission. The money was raised through an exclusive beer tasting event held in Anaheim for their Reserve Society members, a group of craft beer enthusiasts who are wild for The Bruery’s ales.

In what has become an annual event, The Bruery kicked off the year with a massive beer tasting for their club of elite beer lovers known as The Reserve Society. Members of the Society generously bought tickets for the private event which was split into two sessions, each having over 400 people in attendance, giving them 10 samples of The Bruery’s beer along with food from nearby Beachwood BBQ.

The list of beers was seemingly endless and featured not only some of The Bruery’s easier to find Belgian inspired ales such as “Mischief” or “Saison Rue”, but also included their first anniversary ale, “Papier”, their infamous “Black Tuesday”, and even “Chocolate Rain”, a 19.5% alcohol bourbon barrel aged stout with cacao nibs and vanilla beans, known to sell for upwards of $200 a bottle on eBay. As if the list of rare and elusive beers wasn’t enough, The Bruery was pouring several new beers such as “Otiose”, their barrel aged, sour brown ale with guava added to it and even had a special cask of their barrel aged imperial rye porter, “Smoking Wood”, to which they had added bacon just for this event.

As The Bruery has teamed up with several other local breweries this year for collaboration ales, those breweries were also on hand to share their wares. Hangar 24 Brewing, TAPS Brewery, Eagle Rock Brewery and Bootlegger’s Brewery were all pouring their beers to the thirsty guests.

The Bruery was ecstatic to be able to raise as much money as they did as it means a lot to this young company of caring people to give back to the community. Over $7,500 will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of America who helps provide a safe place for children to grow and prosper in the community and another $7,500 will be donated to the Irvine based Free Wheelchair Mission which provides the gift of mobility to disabled people in poor and developing countries.

Founded just 4 years ago by Patrick Rue, a Chapman Law graduate who decided he preferred brewing to lawyering, The Bruery has shown incredible growth and a great initiative to improve their community with local jobs, outreach, charitable donations and of course, great beer.
