Newport, Ore. – Rogue Ales & Spirits announces the release of Hot Tub Scholarship Lager, a refreshing German-style helles lager, just in time for the spring and summer season. Brewed for a great cause, Rogue Ales will donate 10% of Hot Tub Scholarship Lager sales to the Jack Joyce Scholarship Fund, established in honor of the founder of Rogue Ales & Spirits, to further the education of future fermenters.
“We’re proud to help the next generation of brewers and distillers get a chance to make their dreams come true,” said Rogue President Brett Joyce.
Established in 2014, the Jack Joyce Scholarship has awarded $185,000 to 15 recipients. The fund helps students at Oregon State University’s Fermentation Sciences program pay for their education. When one of the first recipients was asked to share a few words about what the scholarship meant to them, it was disclosed that, in addition to helping pay for books and tuition, the winner had taken a portion of the scholarship proceeds to buy a hot tub. Inspired by the common passion of both Jack Joyce and this honest student, Hot Tub Scholarship Lager was created.

The Jack Joyce Scholarship Award was created in 2014 by Columbia Distributing and Rogue Ales in honor of visionary Jack Joyce for his legacy in the Oregon community and his founding of Rogue Brewery in 1988.
