ALEXANDRIA, Va. – MillerCoors Chief Executive Officer Gavin Hattersley will take part in a conversation with National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) President and CEO Craig Purser during NBWA’s 79th Annual Convention, taking place September 25 – 28 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. Hattersley will take part in the general session on Monday, September 26.

“Gavin Hattersley has been at the helm of MillerCoors for more than a year, and during that time he has made changes in sales and marketing; has established clear objectives for the company as well as its distributor partners; and laid out a clear imperative for growth,” Purser said. “He has provided a steady hand on the wheel during this period of transition as ABI and SABMiller complete their global merger and MillerCoors prepares to integrate completely into Molson Coors.”

“I look forward to talking with him about the future of the American beer industry and the important role that distributors continue to play in promoting competition and delivering choice and value for consumers,” Purser added.

Prior to his current role, Hattersley was global chief financial officer for Molson Coors and served as a member of the MillerCoors Board of Directors. Before Molson Coors, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer for MillerCoors, where he was responsible for establishing strong financial management and commercial disciplines for the company, as well as reporting financial performance to the two parent companies of MillerCoors – Molson Coors and SABMiller plc – and to global analysts and investors. Previously, Hattersley was senior vice president, finance, for Miller Brewing Company. He came to Miller from SAB Limited in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he held several financial management positions before becoming CFO in 1999. He also spent nearly a decade at Barloworld Limited.

In addition to general session programming, NBWA’s 79th Annual Convention will feature 18 education seminars taught by the industry’s leading experts and a two-day Product Demonstration Showcase filled with vendors featuring innovative products and services for beer distributors.
