Big Country Organic Brewing Co. Celebrates National Organic Month with Award-Winning Beers and New Hard Seltzer Lineup
PRESS RELEASE posted by Big Country Organic Brewing Co.
AUSTIN, Texas — Big Country Organic Brewing Co. is gearing up for National Organic Month this September, a nationwide celebration led by the Organic Trade Association to spotlight the growing organic movement. As Texas's only certified organic craft brewery, Big Country has spent six years proving that great-tasting beer and USDA Certified Organic ingredients aren't mutually exclusive.
The brewery's commitment to organic brewing has already earned recognition on the competition stage. Little Wing Light took home gold in the 2026 San Diego Country Fair Craft Brew Competition, and TexMex Lager won gold in the Mexican-Style Pale Lager category at the 2026 U.S. Open Beer Championship proudly showing that organic ingredients can go head-to-head with conventional beer and win.
"We fully believe in the benefits of organic but honestly, it can be challenging. There are only a handful of organic farmers producing hops and grains so we don’t have the flexibility in developing our recipes that the non-organic beverage producers are granted. It is absolutely incredible that we can go head-to-head against the non-organic producers and come away with gold medals for our TexMex and Little Wing Lagers and bronze medals for two of our new hard seltzers. That is a real tribute to our brew team and their ability to make great beer and seltzers and still maintain the clean and eco-friendly attributes of organic certification. Cheers to the great artisans we have on our team!" — Bill Gilies, Founder and CEO, Big Country Organic Brewing Co.
Big Country has also launched a new variety pack of hard seltzer to replace their original variety pack. The Adventure Pack features four unique flavor combinations including Jalapeño Strawberry, Blueberry Lemonade, Cherry Organic, and Guava Limeade. Big Country is the only hard seltzer line to carry all three certifications: USDA Certified Organic, Non-GMO Project, and Fair Trade, and comes in at zero sugar, 80 calories, and 4% ABV, making it one of the lightest seltzers on the market today.
Big Country believes taking the extra steps to source organic ingredients, and keep the brewery organic compliant is worth the effort in order to make better products for people and the planet. Organic farming practices improve soil fertility, protect water from toxic chemical runoff, lower emissions, and support pollinator health. Beyond being better for the environment, organic crops are more nutrient-dense, contain less pesticide residue and provide safer working conditions for the farmers that work hard to harvest them.
With growing distribution into Colorado and Southern California, Big Country sees strong momentum building behind both its brand and the organic alcohol category as a whole. The company is also looking ahead to the opening of Big Country Gardens, a new taproom concept in East Austin that will bring together organic craft beer, coffee, and food in a garden setting inspired by the Texas landscape.
Big Country products are available at major retailers including Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Natural Grocers, and Sprouts. For more information, visit enjoybigcountry.com and follow Big Country on social media at @enjoybigcountry.
