RALEIGH, N.C. – Mims Distributing Company, a North Carolina wholesale beverage distributor, is partnering with the SPCA of Wake County as the exclusive beer and wine donor for SPCA’s 10th annual “Bark & Wine with Your Valentine” event on Thursday, Feb. 12 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the SPCA Curtis Dail Pet Adoption Center, located at 200 Petfinder Lane. In an effort to promote the adoption of homeless animals, event attendees are invited to taste various wine and beer selections donated by Mims Distributing while visiting with the dogs, cats, guinea pigs and rabbits up for adoption.

“We are excited to work with SPCA of Wake County and donate to its annual Bark & Wine with Your Valentine event to raise awareness of the need to find homes for shelter pets, all while having a great time trying different beers and wines,” said Chip Mims, CEO of Mims Distributing Company. “This is a fun event that raises awareness for a local charity and we encourage the community to get involved.”

Mims Distributing is committed to supporting organizations like the SPCA that share its commitment to serving others. Through its donation to the Bark & Wine event, Mims Distributing aims to raise pet adoption awareness within the greater Triangle community while providing some of its finest wines and brews for attendees to enjoy. About SPCA of Wake County:

Founded in Raleigh in 1967, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Wake County is dedicated to creating a more humane community where every adoptable animal has a home. Each year the SPCA rehomes over 3,000 animals through its innovative adoption programs. The mission statement of the SPCA remains as relevant now as it was when it was written in 1967: To protect, shelter and promote the adoption of homeless animals; to provide education about responsible pet ownership and to reduce pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs. The SPCA of Wake County is a local, independent, non-profit organization that receives no government funding or tax dollars. We rely almost entirely on private donations to fund our annual operating budget of $2.4 million. The SPCA of Wake County is not affiliated with, nor do we receive funding from the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
