MA Brewers Guild Welcomes Craft Beer Cellar As First Associate Member

The Massachusetts Brewers Guild is pleased to announce that it has expanded its membership to include an Associate Membership level available to any business or individual interested in supporting the Guild’s mission to promote craft brewing and protecting the interests of craft brewers in Massachusetts.

Previous to this announcement, the Massachusetts Brewers Guild, founded in 2007, was open to all Massachusetts breweries with licenses from the federal Tax and Trade Bureau and the ABCC. Today, the Guild is accepting applications from other businesses and individuals with a shared mission and has welcomed its first Associate Member, Craft Beer Cellar, a specialty beer shop located in Belmont, offering craft, micro, and artisanal brewed beers from the United States and beyond.

“We’re excited to expand our membership to individuals and businesses that have the same passion for craft beer in our Commonwealth that MA breweries have,” said Rob Martin, President of the Massachusetts Brewers Guild. “The Craft Beer Cellar is a prime example of a business that is committed to great, local craft beer with a mission to support the State’s beer community. They will be a great addition to the Guild and we look forward to collaborating with them and other like-minded businesses to strengthen our community and efforts.”

“The best way to make craft beer better for everyone is collaboration,” said Suzanne Schalow, co-owner of the Craft Beer Cellar. “We’re thrilled to join the Massachusetts Brewers Guild, and we hope to be trailblazers for all the beer geeks out there who are working hard to keep craft beer growing and cooperative.”

Associate Members will have the opportunity to take part in the Guild’s signature events and participate in continuing education programming for brewers, owners, and associates. Together with existing members, Associate Members will work collectively to enhance and share in the good will and camaraderie of the local craft brewing community in Massachusetts.
