Boston, MA  – A sweet spot is defined as “an optimum point or combination of factors or qualities that create a maximum effect.” It’s that perfect spot on the bat that sends the ball soaring over the back fence. Or the spot on the racket that sends an ace zooming over the net. For Harpoon’s new year-round beer, it’s the optimal combination of the finest brewing ingredients – each showcasing their unique character, working together, with no one ingredient overshadowing another – to create a beer that’s just right.

Harpoon is pleased to introduce their brand new year-round Golden Ale, Harpoon Sweet Spot.

This refreshing Golden Ale is light in body but full of flavor. Not too hoppy, not too malty, complex but easy drinking. Classic German noble hops provide a clean hop aroma while the malt combination adds depth. Smooth with a crisp, dry finish, this beer is a balancing act of the highest quality ingredients – the sweet spot of beer.

“When we start thinking about different styles to try out, one of the criteria is that it’s a beer we’d be excited to bring to a party and share with friends. Sweet Spot scored high on our party meter,” says Harpoon Co-Founder and CEO Dan Kenary. “It’s a great beer for every kind of beer drinker. On the one hand, it’s perfect for drinkers who are just starting to dip their toes into craft beer and are looking for something flavorful but easy drinking. But it’s also perfect for the devoted craft beer drinker who appreciates – and loves – a really well made, light, crisp, golden ale.”

Harpoon Sweet Spot is available now in 12 oz. bottles and cans and on draft. Harpoon will celebrate the launch of Sweet Spot at their annual summer festival, HarpoonFest, on May 20th and 21st in Boston: http://www.harpoonbrewery.com/festivals/2586/2016-harpoonfest.

About the Harpoon Brewery

The Harpoon Brewery was founded by beer lovers Dan Kenary, Rich Doyle, and George Ligeti. In 1986 Harpoon was issued Brewing Permit #001 by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, since it was the first brewery to brew commercially in Boston after a dormant period of about 25 years. Harpoon’s line of craft beer features its award winning IPA and UFO beers, along with special seasonal selections. In 2000 Harpoon purchased a second brewery in Windsor, VT, making Harpoon the 19th largest craft brewer in the US. Harpoon has since introduced the limited batch 100 Barrel Series and the as well as the all-natural Harpoon Craft Cider made from freshly pressed apples. In August 2014 Harpoon became an employee-owned company. For more information about Harpoon beers and visiting the breweries, visit www.harpoonbrewery.com.
