Hangar 24 Expands Distribution in Arizona

Southern California’s Hangar 24 Craft Brewery will be launching its lineup of Year Round, Seasonal, Local Fields and Barrel Roll series beers throughout the state of Arizona beginning in March. The beer will be available for sampling during Craft Beer Week, February 15- 22. People will first be able to try the brewery’s offerings at the Strong Beer Festival on February 15th.

Golden Eagle Distributors, Inc. will be the Hangar 24 wholesaler throughout the state. Products will begin rolling out in early March to bars, restaurants, and retail stores.

The Redlands, California brewery is well known for its WWII era aviation-inspired labels, as well as for its use of locally grown produce in many of its beers. Its flagship Orange Wheat uses oranges grown just a few miles from the brewery.

“At Hangar 24, we constantly have people in other states ask when they’ll be able to find our beer on shelves,” said Hangar 24 Founder and Master Brewer Ben Cook. “I can’t wait to tell people in Arizona that we have finally arrived.”

Hangar 24 was founded in 2008 by Cook and is located directly across the street from Redlands Airport in Southern California. The Brewery makes a lineup of seven Year Round beers, as well as four Seasonals and seven Local Fields Series beers that are made with freshly-picked local fruits. They also have a Barrel Roll Series of limited supply barrel-aged beers, each one named after an aerobatic maneuver.

The brewery came back from the Great American Beer Festival in October 2013 with a Gold Medal for its Local Fields release, Warmer, in the Specialty Beer category. Warmer had previously brought home Gold in the World Beer Cup of 2012. The year also saw its Alt-Bier Amber Ale come home with Gold from the California State Fair Commercial Craft Brew Competition, and its 4th Anniversary Ale return with Gold from both the Los Angeles and San Diego Beer Competitions. In addition, Hangar 24’s Double IPA was recently picked as one of Wine Enthusiast’s Top 25 Beers of 2013.

Above and beyond the gold medals, 2013 was a landmark year for the Brewery in a number of ways, including the start of distribution into central and northern California, as well as Nevada. They also increased production capacity by 25%, brewed their 2,000th batch of Orange Wheat, hired their 100th employee in March (currently at 139) and, in December 2012, began canning their beer for the first time. Also this past year, the brewery held its first air show for its fifth anniversary party. The event attracted 15,000 people to the Redlands Airport.
About Hangar 24 Craft Brewery

Hangar 24 Craft Brewery was founded in 2008 in Redlands, California and is widely known for their flagship beer, Orange Wheat. It’s named for a specific aircraft hangar at Redlands Municipal Airport, where Founder and Master Brewer Ben Cook would hang out after an afternoon of flying to talk aviation, play music and share Ben’s latest batch of homebrews. The Brewery and Tasting Room were established and still operate in a renovated hangar directly across the street. Hangar 24 embodies a true passion for good beer, the absolute love of flying and the pure enjoyment of being around great friends.
