Upland Brewing Expands Distribution to Boston

Indiana’s Upland Brewing has signed with Massachusetts Beverage Alliance for coverage throughout the sate, the company announced via a press release.

Upland, which recently invested $4 million to expand its sour beer program, will initially send two tart offerings — Hopsynth and Revive — to the greater Boston market in bottles and kegs.

“The array of styles and flavors from their sour portfolio is absolutely amazing, and we know that the savvy beer connoisseur in Boston and throughout Massachusetts will appreciate and recognize the commitment and process Doug Dayhoff and his team have put into doing things the right way,” Brian Murphy, the director of sales & marketing for Massachusetts Beverage Alliance said in the release.

Forbidden Root Inks Agreements with Cavalier in Ohio and Florida

Chicago’s Forbidden Root Brewing will expand its reach to Ohio and Florida, via new distribution arrangements with Cavalier Distributing, a craft and specialty beer wholesaler that has operations in three states (Florida, Ohio, Indiana).

Forbidden Root — known for its botanic beers — will launch in Ohio on November 14, and in Florida in early 2017, according to a press statement.

Cavalier will distribute the brewery’s Money on My Rind, Sublime Ginger and Wildflower Pale Ale offerings. All three products are made using unique ingredients, including bark, stems, roots, flowers or herbs.

Money on My Rind is made with juniper berries and grains of paradise; Sublime Ginger is brewed with key lime juice, ginger and lemon myrtle; and Wildflower Pale Ale is made with elderflower, marigold and sweet Osmanthus flowers.

Ghostfish Brewing Expands Distribution to Eastern Washington, Idaho

Gluten-free beer maker Ghostfish Brewing, based in Seattle, will expand its reach to Eastern Washington and Idaho via Odom Corporation, according to a press release.

Odom will distributes the brewery’s draft, bottled and canned beers — including Grapefruit IPA, Vanishing Point Pale Ale, Shrouded Summit Belgian White Ale, Watchstander Stout and Peak Buster Double IPA — in both territories, Ghostfish said.

“We couldn’t be happier to expand our relationship with The Odom Corporation,” co-founder Brian Thiel said via the release.

Odom Corporation currently distributes Ghostfish beers throughout parts of Western Washington.

“They have wholeheartedly embraced our craft beer portfolio and are as excited as we are about growing our presence here in Washington and Northern Idaho,” he added.

Zaftig Brewing Signs with Esber Beverage

Ohio’s Zaftig Brewing has signed with Esber Beverage for coverage throughout Northeastern Ohio, according to Cleveland.com.

Zaftig, which will make about 1,000 barrels of beer in 2016, plans to bottle approximately 80 percent of its beer, according to the report. Six-packs sell for as much $13.

“It’s aimed at the pretty serious craft-beer drinker,” owner Jim Gokenbach told the outlet.

Dogfish Eyeing Missouri & Kansas

If Dogfish Head’s careers page is any indication, the Delaware craft brewery will soon expand its reach to Missouri and Kansas.

The company is looking to hire a sales manager with five years of sales rep or sales support experience to oversee the two markets, per the job description.

“You gotta be able to work late nights, early mornings, weekend and holidays as necessary to support sales activities,” the posting notes.
