Los Angeles, CA — Just in time for LA Beer Week, Angel City Brewery is excited to release their first-ever limited beer in 16-ounce cans. Starting June 23rd at 4pm, fans will be able to grab four-packs of the ever-popular Sunbather, a kettle soured session pale ale at the brewery, while supplies last.
Sunbather, which has an ABV of 4.2%, is a slightly hazy golden beer dry hopped with Citra hops. With a citrusy aroma, Sunbather is refreshingly tart and juicy and is the perfect beer to enjoy while soaking up that warm California sun.
“When I first brewed Sunbather late last summer, we weren’t quite sure how dry hopping a sour beer would turn out, but deep down I knew I was onto something,” said Angel City Brewery Brewer Tyler Thurman. “I kept refining the recipe and we ended up with a sour session beer that I think is perfect for combating the summer heat. That’s a part of being a brewer, passionately reworking a recipe until it is sipping perfection.”
Because Angel City doesn’t have its own canning line, the brewery worked with Beer Monks Mobile Canning. The Sierra Madre-based company brought its canning line to the brewery, and in less than a few hours, an entire batch of beer was canned. Angel City is also planning to launch its much-anticipated Avocado Ale in cans this August.
Sunbather will be available during LA Beer Week on draft at the Public House and at LA Beer Week events June 17-25. Fans are invited to come to Angel City Brewery on June 23rd 4 to 6 pm for the Sunbather Can Launch Party.
