Adnams Ghost Ship to Receive East Coast Distribution

SOUTHWOLD, SUFFOLK, England — Adnams, the British brewer and distiller, has partnered with Crafted Exports, a New York-based importer, to launch Adnams on the east coast of the United States. Ghost Ship Pale Ale, the brewer’s best-selling beer, will be unveiled at a launch event in New York City on 29 November 2017 at 310 Bowery Bar. American brewery, Harpoon, will also be distributing Ghost Ship in Boston, Massachusetts from December 2017.

Ghost Ship (4.5% ABV) is a pale ale with biscuit flavours and fresh citrus aromas. It is brewed with a selection of malts – Pale Ale, Rye and Cara – Citra and a blend of otherAmerican hop varieties and, while light in colour, the resulting beer has a little sweetness. First launched in the UK in September 2012, the beer was inspired by Adnams’ 600-year old haunted pub, The Bell in Walberswick, located near the brewery in Suffolk and adapted from a recipe for Deathly Pale Ale.

Ghost Ship is already imported to 25 countries around the world, including Australia, Italy, Slovenia, Chile and South Korea. It has been commended for its great flavor and was most recently awarded Gold at the World Beer Awards in 2017.

“Ghost Ship is now our best-selling beer in the UK and sales are growing strongly in many countries around the world so we are excited to launch the beer with the US market,” said Maxwell Bond, Sales Director at Adnams. “We have exported to the US before and often receive requests for Adnams beers to be available again. We feel that it’s the right time to re-enter the US market and lead with our most popular beer, Adnams Ghost Ship.

“We are delighted to partner with Crafted Exports in the US and in the UK. The team atCrafted Exports believes Ghost Ship will be warmly received by consumers and will providethe support and focus that’s needed to establish the beer across the East Coast of the US.

“Once established on the East Coast, we plan to expand the range to include more ales and potentially some of our award-winning spirits, with a view to exporting these to more states across the country.”

“We are honored to bring one of England’s most celebrated heritage breweries back to the United States,” said Qurban Singh Walia, Co-president at Crafted Export. “Ghost Ship Pale Ale is an amazing beer that already has a growing fan base here, and we are excited to finally be able to have it this side of the pond!””
